About the College The Faculty of Media was established in 2018/2019 following the elevation of the Islamic College to the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf in the same year. The faculty comprises the Department of Journalism, which aims to prepare specialized, academically and professionally qualified media cadres capable of working in the fields of journalism and media with full professionalism and integrity.
The program views journalism as a vital and important element of media, having a significant impact on societal movement and guiding it in the right direction. This requires supplying it with competent and professional elements that can deter all external and internal attacks that affect the security of the country and society across all its social strata.
The Faculty of Media adopts a strategic plan aimed at preparing specialized journalistic and media cadres, promoting media ethics values, and developing students' skills in print and electronic journalism and photojournalism, in line with the requirements of the media labor market in Iraq and the Arab region.
