About the Department The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is one of the departments of the College of Education at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, established with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2013. The department aims to prepare qualified scientific cadres to work in the fields of physical education, sports training, and scientific research, in a way that serves the development of Iraqi sports and contributes to spreading sports culture and promoting the health of individuals and society.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the Islamic University in Najaf aspires to be among the distinguished academic departments administratively, scientifically, and educationally, in order to serve the individual and Iraqi society in the sports field, and to advance towards postgraduate studies to achieve further scientific accomplishments in this field.
Department History The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences received approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for its establishment in the College of Education at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf in 2013.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences adopts a strategic plan aimed at preparing qualified sports cadres according to international standards, enhancing scientific research in physical education fields, and building partnerships with local and international sports institutions to develop Iraqi sports.
