About the Department The Department of English Language Education is one of the departments of the College of Education at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf, established by Ministerial Order No. (J H / 4212) on 16/9/2013. The department aims to prepare graduates proficient in English, capable of teaching it using modern methods, discovering and developing students' linguistic abilities, and qualifying translators and specialized cadres that meet the needs of the labor market.
The department's vision lies in the growing importance of the English language in our time and its role across all scientific and human specializations. English is distinctive in that it enters all specializations, which is why the Department of English Language makes it a priority to prepare linguistically proficient graduates who can meet the requirements of their specialty. Given that we live in an age of civilizational and intellectual conflict where the language of discourse is English, it has become highly necessary to have competencies in modern English language in our country. In addition, English is fundamental in technology and communication media.
Department History The Department of English Language Education received approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for its establishment through Order No. (J H / 4212) on 16/9/2013, the same order that established the College of Education at the Islamic University in Najaf Al-Ashraf.
The Department of English Language Education adopts a strategic plan aimed at preparing educational cadres proficient in English, capable of teaching using modern methods and developing students' linguistic skills, with a focus on developing translation skills and qualifying graduates who meet the needs of the labor market in the field of English language teaching.
