Islamic University, Najaf The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the College of Medical Technologies held a scientific seminar titled “Prostate Cancer”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdul Hadi Salal, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs of the College of Medical Technologies, Dr. Rahman Zubaida, along with a number of faculty members and researchers. The seminar addressed the concept of prostate cancer by introducing the disease, its causes, and the factors contributing to its occurrence, as well as reviewing the anatomical and physiological aspects of the prostate gland. The lecturer highlighted the factors influencing disease progression and associated risk factors, in addition to explaining the mechanisms of its development, the pathological changes accompanying it, and the major health complications resulting from the disease. The seminar emphasized the importance of early detection and regular medical examinations as effective measures to reduce the spread of the disease and minimize its complications, contributing to the promotion of preventive culture and raising health awareness among community members.
