About the Department The Department of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technologies Engineering is one of the departments of the College of Technical Engineering at the Islamic University of Najaf Al-Ashraf. Founded in the academic year 2010-2011, it was established to prepare engineering cadres with distinguished scientific and practical expertise in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The department accepts students who are graduates of the scientific branch of preparatory school, as well as graduates of technical institutes and industrial preparatory schools. Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Engineering degree after four years of study.
The department's vision is centered on advancing knowledge in both the theoretical and practical aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning systems — including their operation, installation, and maintenance methods — in a way that creates scientific competencies in this specialization after graduation. This also includes developing the capabilities of faculty members in the department's precise specialization to align with scientific syllabi and expert training on laboratory equipment for refrigeration systems in the department's dedicated laboratories.
